Rahman : Biography
Rahman is a popular film actor in the Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu film Industries.The six feet one inche tall Rahman has acted in more than 50 films in Malayalam, Tamil & Telugu and was a superstar in the 1980s. Rehman's first Malayalam film Koodevede was released in 1983, and it was a super hit. The Mammootty, Mohanlal, Rahman team acted together in about 7 films, and was very successful. In January 1987 Rehman moved from Kozhikode to Bangalore to try luck in Kannada Movies but he did't get any offers as a Hero. In 1989 Rahaman got a call from K. Balachander from Madras that was a turning point for Rehman. In 1990 Rehman moved to Chennai From Bangalore
Rahman : Career
Rahman's first Tamil film was 'Nileve Malare' which was released in 1986 and the director of the movie was SA Chanderashekhar.( Tamil super star Viay's father) and it was a semi hit. In 1989 'Puthu puthu arthangal' was a big hit and he shifted completely to Tamil and Telugu. 'Barath Band' is one of his big hits in Telugu.Rasaleela was the first Telugu movie Rahman acted in Telugu which was released in 1986.
Now Rahman is back in Malayalam and did second hero roles in the films Black, Rajamanikyam, Mahasamudram and Bhargavacharitham Moonam Khandam. He is the hero in two new films, 'Abraham and lincoln' and 'Nanma'. He is also doing the lead characters in Kamal's next film Goal and the Tamil film Kasu which is going to release in February 2007. Rahman performed well in Tamil movies Thoothukudi and Ram which was released in 2005 and 2006. Tamil movie ethiri (2004) was the first movie Rahman dubbed his own voice. in Malayalam Rajamanikiyam (2005) was the first movie Rahman dubbed his own voice. In 2005 after a long gap in Telugu Rehman acted in Telugu movie named Dhariyam but it was a flop in the box office.Rehman is doing a tough cop role in Ajith new Tamil movie Billa 2007.
